Sorvo Research email
When you sign up for Sorvo Research email, we store:
- your email address;
- where you signed up: the page and signup source, for example the Research index or a specific report;
- the campaign (UTM) tags in the link that brought you here, if there were any;
- the site that referred you, as its address without any query string;
- your subscription state: waiting for confirmation, subscribed or unsubscribed;
- delivery, open and click events for the Research emails we send you.
Why. Only to send you new Sorvo Research reports, and to understand which reports and pages bring readers to the list. Signing up for Research does not sign you up for any other Sorvo email.
Confirmation. We email you a link to confirm your address before sending anything else. The link lasts seven days. If you don’t confirm, you won’t receive Research email.
Email provider. Research email is sent through Resend, which handles your address and the delivery events on our behalf.
Unsubscribing. Every Research email has an unsubscribe link, and mail apps that offer a one-click unsubscribe button can use it directly. Unsubscribing affects Sorvo Research email only. To come back, sign up again.
How long we keep it. While you are subscribed, we keep what is listed above. If you unsubscribe, we keep your address and the fact that you opted out, so that we don’t email you again. We keep delivery, open and click events to report on our emails. To have your details deleted, write to [email protected].
Requesting access to Sorvo
When you request access, we collect your email address and the answers you give about your work, such as your role, station or company, market and country, and anything you write in the free-text questions. We use them to review your request and to contact you about access. These emails are also sent through Resend and include an unsubscribe link.
Cookies and browser storage
The site sets one cookie, sorvo_access, and only when you use the access questionnaire, so that your answers stay with you from page to page. There are no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies.
Vemetric, our analytics provider, runs in its default cookieless mode. It keeps a random value in your browser’s session storage so that the pages you view in one visit can be grouped together; session storage is cleared when you close the tab.
On Sorvo Research pages, your browser also remembers for the current session which campaign link and referring site first brought you here. It leaves your browser only if you sign up, as part of the signup.
Analytics
We use two analytics services.
Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and a few named events, without cookies.
Vemetric is our web and product analytics provider. Like any website request, loading its script shares your browser’s standard request information with Vemetric, which it uses to produce statistics such as country, device and browser. It records:
- the pages you view on this site and the site that referred you;
- links to other sites that you click;
- on Sorvo Research reports: how far through the report you scroll, whether you reach its end, whether you open the methodology or a figure’s source details, and whether you start or submit the Research email signup, with the report and the figure concerned.
We do not send your email address or name to Vemetric or to Vercel. The signup events record only where the form was and which report it was on. Your Research email subscription itself, including whether you confirmed it, is handled separately by Sorvo’s Research subscription system, described above.
Some links we email you carry a one-time token. Before a page address is sent to Vemetric, the token is replaced by a placeholder; Vercel Web Analytics removes it too, and records nothing from the Research confirmation and unsubscribe pages.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Vercel. When you submit a form, your IP address is passed to Sorvo’s own systems to limit repeated attempts, and is not stored with your subscription.
Your choices and contact
To ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, write to [email protected]. You can unsubscribe from any Sorvo email with the link it contains.
If this page changes, we’ll update the date at the top.
